Delayed and Damaged Baggage
Delayed Baggage
If you are unable to locate your checked baggage upon arrival, please report any delayed baggage to a Calm Air Customer Service agent immediately, in order to expedite the baggage tracking process.
An agent will assist the passenger with completing a Delayed Baggage Claim Form, and will provide updates to the passenger on the status of the search as per their preferred method of contact provided on the report. Overnight toiletry kits may be available for those passengers who are away from home and do not have such items included in their carry-on baggage.
Passengers will be reimbursed for any applicable baggage fees paid. Passengers may request reimbursement of interim expenses by contacting the Passenger Solutions Manager through Calm Air Reservations (1-800-839-2256). Claims for interim expenses must be made within 21 days from the date on which the delayed baggage was received, and must include:
- Original receipts for expenses being claimed
- A copy of the Baggage Claim Form originally completed
- Boarding passes and baggage tags
Calm Air’s maximum liability for delayed, lost, or damaged baggage is approximately $2,400.00 CAD per person (or 1,288 SDR's - special drawing rights), per incident upon submission of receipts.
Lost Baggage
If delayed baggage is not located within 21 days from the date on which the delayed baggage was to be delivered, it is deemed lost. Passengers will be reimbursed for any applicable baggage fees paid and reimbursement of replacement expenses for their lost baggage up to Calm Air’s maximum baggage liability.
Damaged Baggage
It is recommended that passengers report any damage to their baggage in person, to a Calm Air Customer Service agent immediately upon arrival (passengers have 7 days to report damaged baggage and submit their claim after the baggage is received).
An agent will assist the passenger with completing a Damaged Baggage Claim Form, will assess the damaged bag, and forward the report onward for review and processing.
Calm Air’s maximum liability for damaged baggage is approximately $2,400.00 CAD per passenger (or 1,288 SDR's - special drawing rights).
