Sports Equipment Substituted for Free Baggage Allowance

Any one of the following items may be substituted for one of your two free checked pieces, provided it fits within the weight and dimensions of 50 lbs (23kg) and 62 linear inches (158cm).

• Archery Equipment: Covers a bow & arrows suitably packed in a rigid and/or hard shell container specifically designed for shipping.
• Fishing Equipment: Includes one rod case, one landing net, one pair of boots and a tackle box. The fishing rod case must be a rigid and/or hard shell container specifically designed for shipping.
• Golf Clubs: A golf bag containing no more than 14 clubs, 12 golf balls and one pair of golf shoes. The bag and its contents must be packaged in a rigid/or hard shell container specifically designed for shipping.
• Hockey Equipment: One equipment bag containing a maximum of 2 hockey sticks. The hockey stick(s) must be packaged in a rigid and/or hard shell container specifically designed for shipping.
• Skis (snow or water): A set of snow skis means one pair of skis, poles and boots. For water skis, it is a pair, or a single slalom. These sets are considered to be one piece of checked baggage and no other items can be carried in the package. The skis and poles must be packaged in a rigid and/or hard shell container specifically designed for shipping.
• Snowboards: A set consists of one snowboard and one pair of boots. The snowboard must be packaged in a rigid and/or hard shell container specifically designed for shipping.

*NOTE: If the above items are not packaged as specified, they will only be accepted with a “LIMITED RELEASE” form (to be signed at check-in), releasing Calm Air of all liability. Excess charges will apply for overweight, oversized, and/or additional pieces.

Sports Equipment Subject to Excess Charges

Calm Air carries the following sports equipment as excess baggage, and will travel subject to availability of space and weight on the aircraft and will always subject to the excess baggage fees as specified. These items will only be accepted with a “LIMITED RELEASE” form (to be signed at check-in), releasing Calm Air of liability.

• Bicycles: $25 CAD fee plus tax. The bicycle must be prepared for shipping by fixing the hhandlebars sideways and removing the pedals. Place the bicycle in a rigid and/or or hard shell container specifically designed for shipping.
